OK, I need help here!!!

So often listeners write in asking for suggestions on songs to dance to during family weddings.  I generally recommend Billy Dean’s “Let Them Be Little”,  I also love Kenny Rogers “Through The Years”.   What are your suggestions, I would like to assemble a list and I’m looking for suggestions.  Whether you are dancing with the bride or the groom, what song do you think is most appropriate?

I agree with your choices, very good ones. What about Alan Jackson’s song, “Remember When?”

How about Heartlands — I loved her first.
    Have a great week.

    Terri,
Growing up, I had my biological father in and out of my life, but the two constants were my grandfather and step-father. For my wedding, my biological father did not show up, and I was fortunate enough to have both my grandpa and stepdad walk me down the aisle. When it came to the father/daughter dance, we danced to I Am Your Child, Barry Manilow. It was very emotional from my stepfather because the song says so much! Sorry for writing a book, but I’m sure people don’t know this song, as it really wasn’t popular, but I encouraged everyone to download it! (ok, don’t pirate it as newman would do!)

The first song my husband whispered in my ear while we were “watching the submarine races” was “When I Need Love” by Leo Sayer. When we renewed our vows for our 25th anniversary in an outdoors ceremony, I came down the aisle to that song. It was beautiful, and he was truly touched. We made a CD of songs that included:
“Over the Rainbow” - Kenny G,
“Unchained Melody” - The Righteous Bros
“Because You Loved Me” - Celine Dion,
“After All” - Cher & Peter Cetera,
“Through the Years” - Kenny Rogers,
“You Needed Me” - Anne Murray,
    “Almost Paradise” - ?
“Look At Us” - Vince Gill
    “Lean On Me” - ?
“She Believes in Me” - Kenny Rogers
“You Are So Beautiful” - ?
“Three Times A Lady” - Lionel Ritchie
    “Lady” - John Denver
“God Must Have Spent A Little More Time on You”- Alabama
    “Amazed” - Lone Star
“A Wonderful World” - Louis Armstrong
“Love Without End, Amen” - George Strait
“When Love Finds You” - Vince Gill
“Our Love Will Go On” - Celine Dion
    “From This Moment” - Shania
“In This Life” - Colin Ray (your FAV!)

The other one, and no one knows this song, is by Jimmy Dean…”To A Sleeping Beauty”. Get the tissues!!! It’s spoken by Jimmy, and it’s been in our stero’s record player (that’s how old it is!!) for years, and years, and years in the event our 33 yr old daughter EVER gets married. (Newman, I have a single daughter!!) It’s too beautiful for words. You have to beam it up and listen to it.

Sorry this is so long, but these are some beautiful & meaningful songs.

    xo
