God Bless You Savannah!

Yesterday was a tough day for “the Fam”.  I joined my sister-in-law Barb at Penfield Vet as she said goodbye to her best friend, her tri-colored Collie, Savannah.  It was unexpected, a slow growing cancer that when discovered, was already too late.  I mention this because so many of us go through this.  I too have lost a couple of animals, I had to make the decision and be there as they breathed their last.  It is so profoundly sad and yet a gift to be able to make the decision to end suffering.  The staff at Penfield Veterinary Hospital is wonderful, compassionate and patient.  The days ahead will be tough for Barb but her memories will sustain her.

By the way:  Lollipop Farm has a wonderful Grief Support program if it’s ever needed.  All the details are available at   www.lollypop.org

    Hi Terry,
Two weeks before I moved here to Rochester, I lost my 8 lb papillion mix, Katie, to kidney failure, after almost 15 years of loving the fur off her..next week will be a year. They love you even when you don’t love yourself, they give kisses, when no one else will, and they make you laugh till you cry. I miss her, and bless you for being with Barb when she had to say goodbye. People have said to me “well, she was just a dog”. Clearly, they have no idea what they are talking about….Love your show…it takes my mind off the traffic I’m sitting in!! Great station, great music, and great talent..hats off to you, Steve and Neuman (you gotta find that guy a “hottie”)
    Later,
    Jackie

    Hi Terry,

I had to make the decision to put my beloved Maggie down the day before Mothers Day this year. She was a 14 yr old lab/weimerimer, and we have had her since she was 6 months. I went out and bought a lilac bush on Mothers day, and planted it in her favorite spot in the back yard. This is also her final resting place. We miss her dearly. Pets never ask for anything but love, and the love you get back from them is so unconditional. My sympathies are with your sister in law, and bless you for helping her thru this.

Hi Terry… I had to put my Duke to rest in April. I was broken hearted, but knew I was doing the right thing. It is one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. I miss him & remember him everyday. We were a team, and I feel there is a part of me missing. But we will be together again someday..We will meet @ Rainbow Bridge, where animals go to wait for those they left behind.
