It’s Official!!!!

The Everest Institute has asked me to be the Commencement speaker at their November Graduation Ceremony!  I am so flattered.  I cannot image that I have anything to say that the grads will want to hear but I am going to give it the “old college try”!  I have started buying books that will help me organize my thoughts into a well written speech.  I know I am going to cry, I always cry at graduations, weddings, and pinning ceremonies and well, the list goes on.  I do not have a firm date yet; I’ll let you know when I do.  I am so excited….who was your commencement speaker, did they say anything that make you think…pass it along; I’m going to bootleg here!!!!

Talk a little about one thing that your kids have surprised you with that has made a difference in your life - kids are our future. We adults do need to constructively listen to them at times.

    Terry,
Buying books to format a speech would be all right for some, but I feel as if you would naturally have good things to say if you just speak from your heart. You are right, this is a great honor. One that you will be able to stand up to. Think of what you would want to say to Marley as she goes out into the world of grownups. We have a lot of good things in the grownup world, some challenging, but most very enjoyable. Talk of values, etc. You know in your heart what to say because you are a Mom.
Best of luck. I look forward to hearing more on this.
    Til morning..
    Eileen
