Wow!! Have you ever……
I needed stamps the other day and I was right near the Post Office so I stopped in. Have you ever been behind someone in line that is using an automated vending machine but answering all of its questions out loud? It is so strange. I felt like I was eavesdropping. The lady there had her son, maybe he was 2 and every question asked she would repeat to her son, he then, repeated it back to her, she would answer him, he would repeat the answer to her she would then answer the machine. It took half an hour to mail a package!!! It’s funny the things you do when you don’t think anyone is watching or listening, I do it ALL THE TIME!!! Any thoughts?

It would have been really funny if you started answering too!

I’ll sometimes run through my grocery list while I’m shopping. One wise guy thought it was funny to say “Grab me some of those too.” Only then did I realize that I was speaking out loud! Oops

Oh heck, not only do I talk aloud to myself, to machines or other inanimate objects (in public as well as at home), I frequently sing out loud in public as well. Yep, that’s me bursting into song in the cereal aisle at Wegmans…. I’m harmless, I swear!

Hey Terry~although I find this hillarious~and I know how out of the ordinary it seems, this is a great way that parents involve and interact with thier child. I don’t know if this woman was in the right by holding up the line, think of how entertained that child was! Would you rather hear the mother shhhing, or raising her voice to get the kid to stand still or not be fussy so she could get a tedious task completed. Good for that mom, and sorry you had to wait-We as adults can do that for a toddler it’s a learning experience, the next time he has to wait with mom, he can recall that experience and spare someone a stressful temper tantrum.
