As difficult as it has been to watch my daughter’s High School year slip away, Saturday night was such a pleasure to be a part of.  The Dick Ide family of car dealerships took an opportunity to “give back” to the Penfield community, specifically the Penfield High School Senior Class of 2009 in a way that I have never before witnessed.  Throughout the year all senior students were encouraged to work hard for the opportunity to become eligible to win a 2009 Honda “Fit”.  It was simple and challenging all at the same time.  It was as easy as walking into the dealerships and registering, referring people to the dealerships’ and becoming eligible through academics.  For every good grade on report cards you were allowed to fill out another raffle ticket.  What a great way to “nudge” these kids in the general direction of their books!  Saturday night was the night, it was 12 midnight, smack in the middle of Senior BASH, hosted by the Eastside YMCA and this is, as they say, the rest of the story:

Congratulations Katie, Ashley and Kelsey and congratulations to the Class of 2009 at Penfield High School, you have a very bright future, you make this world a better place!
